Feasibility Study and Detailed Design of Nanyuki Water Supply Project
The assignment’s purpose was to come up with design on measures to augment the supply of water within Nanyuki Municipality and any other areas within the jurisdiction of NAWASCO. The measures included establishment of a suitable site for construction of water reservoir within the slopes of Mt. Kenya, the design of a water dam and the raw water mains. The assignment involved geotechnical investigations, topographical survey of the proposed dam area and design of treatment plant, storage tanks, transmission mains and distribution pipelines for water supply within NAWASCO’s area of jurisdiction and its environs. The scope included EIA and Socio-Economic study of the proposed project.
