Programme for acceleration of Water supply and sanitation towards reaching the Millennium Development Goals, through the GoK/UNICEF Programme of Cooperation 2004 – 2008
Development of Standard Technical Designs for Various Technological Options in Water and Sanitation Facilities. The Programme was at its inception phase at the time of kick-off and covered a five-year period, from January 2008 to December 2013, in selected arid, semi-arid and flood prone districts. The programme aimed to contribute to an increased access for the poor to safe drinking water and sanitation, by providing sustainable access to safe sources of drinking water and access to basic sanitation, by scaling up ‘pro-poor’ investments, and to contribute to the development of national policies to reach the Millennium Development Goals.
